Two Halves, One Self, 2022

“Two Halves, One Self” shows two halves of my face—one with hijab, one without—revealing how a woman can lose her true self under oppression. Set against the traditional Gol o Morgh motif once used on Qur’an covers, it reflects the forced, imposed ideals that hide choice and individuality.
